This mix was based on the idea that there are a lot of rock/metalkids out there that love this dark and wobbly world - they just don’t know it yet. I’ve listened to punk and hardcore my whole life, so I know where they’re coming from. An old friend of mine has always been a hardcore-guy and is pretty clear on his view of electronic music - that it’s shit, basically. So when he mentioned that he’d listened to”The Coulrophilia Mix” and actually liked parts of it, I was all like whUUT? This means that there are more like him out there. All they need is an introduction, so I went and did this mix in order to be.. well, a missionary. And now you can too!  All you have to do is play this for your metal-friends and prepare for the moment when you can utter one of the sweetest sentences in the world: “I fucking told you so”.

MY NEW HERO

Can you imagine the balls on this guy? He’s the definition of self-irony and a master in the art of not taking himself too seriously. At the same time it’s a tremendously serious handicap that must be completely debilitating. So to see a guy like this stepping up and showing the world what he’s like - it makes me almost sentimental. He’s a fantastic role model for younger people with Tourettes, showing them that he’s not ashamed of his illness and signals “this is me, if you don’t like it - fuck off”. I can imagine how suicide-rates among sufferers could be a LOT higher than the average, so the fact that this guy has the backbone to stand up and actually SING as well is most likely saving lives.
